How do I make a comment, compliment or complaint to the HSE?

What will happen next?

In the case of a comment or a compliment we will send you a letter of acknowledgement if you gave us your contact details.

We will pass on your comment or compliment to the relevant service or staff member. They will acknowledge your verbal complaint immediately or as soon as possible.

A written complaint will be acknowledged by a Complaints Officer in writing within five working days.

How will my complaint be dealt with?

Depending on the nature and seriousness of your complaint:

  • a staff member/service manage will attempt to resolve your complaint locally; or
  • a Complaints Officer will look into the issues raised in your complaint.

How long will it take the Complaints Officer to look into my complaint?

The Complaints Officer will look into your complaint within 30 working days of the date when it was acknowledged.

If it takes longer to look into all the issues raised in your complaint the Complaints Officer will notify you within 30 working days and will give you an update on what is happening every 20 working days after that.

What do I do if I am not happy with the recommendations made by the Complaints Officer or the way my complaint was dealt with?

You may ask for a review in writing from the Director of Advocacy, Oak House, Millennium Park, Naas, Co. Kildare. Telephone: 1890 424 555.

You have 30 working days from the date of the final report sent to you by the Complaints Officer to ask for a review.

What if I am not happy with the outcome of the review?

You may request an independent review of your complaint from the Office of the Ombudsman or Ombudsman for Children.

I gcás tuairime nó molta, seolfaimid litir admhála chugat má thug tú do shonraí teagmhála dúinn.

Cuirfimid do bharúil nó do mholadh ar aghaidh chuig an tseirbhís ábhartha nó chuig an mball foirne ábhartha. Admhóidh siad do ghearán ó bhéal láithreach nó a luaithe is féidir.

Déanfaidh Oifigeach Gearán gearán scríofa a admháil i scríbhinn laistigh de chúig lá oibre.

Conas a dhéileálfar le mo ghearán?

Ag brath ar chineál agus chomh tromchúiseach le do ghearán:

  • déanfaidh ball foirne/bainisteoir seirbhísí iarracht do ghearán a réiteach go háitiúil; nó
  • breathnóidh Oifigeach Gearán ar na saincheisteanna a tarraingíodh anuas i do ghearán.

Cén fhad a thógfaidh sé ar an Oifigeach Gearán breathnú ar mo ghearán?

Breathnóidh an tOifigeach Gearán ar do ghearán laistigh de 30 lá oibre ón dáta a admhaíodh é.

Má thógann sé níos faide chun breathnú ar gach ceann de na saincheisteanna a tarraingíodh anuas i do Ghearán, tabharfaidh an tOifigeach Gearán fógra duit laistigh de 30 lá oibre agus tabharfaidh sé an scéala is déanaí ar a bhfuil ag tarlú gach 20 lá oibre ina dhiaidh sin.

Cad a dhéanfaidh mé más rud é nach bhfuilim sásta leis na moltaí a rinne an tOifigeach Gearán nó leis an dóigh ar caitheadh le mo ghearán?

Féadfaidh tú athbhreithniú a iarraidh i scríbhinn ón Stiúrthóir Abhcóideachta, Teach Dara, Páirc na Mílaoise, An Nás, Co. Chill Dara. Teileafón: 1890 424 555.

Tá 30 lá oibre agat ó dháta na tuarascála deiridh a sheol an tOifigeach Gearán chugat chun athbhreithniú a iarraidh.

Cad a tharlóidh mura bhfuilim sásta le toradh an athbhreithnithe?

Féadfaidh tú athbhreithniú neamhspleách ar do ghearán a iarraidh ó Oifig an Ombudsman nó ón Ombudsman do Leanaí.
