Specific complaints procedures

There are a number of organisations in the health and social care sector in Ireland with responsibility for protecting the quality and safety of health and social care services. 

Some of these organisations provide services to patients (for example, the Health Service Executive (HSE)), some are independent complaints handling bodies that investigate how complaints are handled in public organisations (the Office of the Ombudsman, the Ombudsman for Children), and some are regulators that regulate areas like professional practice, service quality and medicines.

Most of these organisations allow you to make a complaint to them. You can choose from one of the links to the right to see the complaints procedures for that organisation.
